Our Mission
A mission statement explains, in concise terms, our purpose as a church. Before Christ ascended to Heaven, He gave His current and future disciples the same assignment, to “go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-18). We understand that discipleship is a lifelong process that begins when a person accepts Christ. As we seek to establish the current mission of First Baptist Marietta, the Great Commission will serve as our guide.
To be a family of believers, who seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Vision
A vision statement describes our long-term desired objective. As we look ahead to God’s vision for our impact within our community in the next five to ten years, the possibilities are endless. We truly believe God is preparing the hearts of the family at First Baptist, to reap a harvest.
Create Connections and Develop Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Next Generation.
Values
Values inform who we are and what we believe are the most important tenets of First Baptist Marietta. By defining and modeling our values, we commit to hold one another to a higher level of accountability:
- Christ Centered – In all that we do, we commit to making Jesus Christ the primary focus. (Romans 15:5-7, 1 Peter 4:11)
- Team – We commit to supporting one another in our efforts by working together. (Ecclesiastes
4:9-12, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27) - People – We commit to demonstrating genuine compassion and care for others. (Ephesians 4:32, John 13:34-35, Philippians 2:4)
- Integrity – We commit to living a life worthy of the gospel, above reproach. (Psalm 25:2, 2 Samuel 22:26, Psalm 101:2)
- Involvement – We commit to reach out to include others in the work of the kingdom. (Colossians 3:23-24, Matthew 23:11-12, 1 Peter 4:10-11)
